Re-using quilts - part 2

Like I said before, I had fun trying to customize old quilts. (Not old, like aged, but old like I'm not in the same style now).
First, I added textile paint directly on the lace flower. I used a pencil, as the paint was quite thick. I placed it on the quilt, in the large white areas, and pressed.

Of course, I forgot to wear gloves, so my hand were red... I had to press firmly to transfer paint.

The result was not exactly what I expected. So I tried something else.

I painted the flower in thick paint again, but then sprayed yellow paint on it. It came in a bottle spray, but the little hole was closed after a while, so I had to transfer the liquid paint in another spray bottle.

Can you tell the real mess around here ?

Still not exactly what I wanted. So I used the sponge instead, and large stamps I had around.

At first I was stamping only in white parts of the quilt, but then I stamped everywhere. I turned the quilt to have various directions in stamps, because at first all my flowers were turning in the same direction, wich I did not like.

Here is the final result. I'm quite happy with it, but now I need to add more quilting/embroidery.

What do you think ?

that's interesting, I've made my own stamps but would not have thought of using a piece of lace to stamp - something new for me to try!
